The usual prescription for an aching bout of craving for Indian food while visiting San Diego, California is a trip to one of the many savory South Asian eateries along what is locally known as Little India along a stretch of Black Mountain Rd in Mira Mesa ... or a spin into the northwest corner of the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown where 5 upscale Indian restaurants preside over 4th Avenue from E St down to Market St. So it was a pleasant surprise for me to stumble onto Tandoor Indian in the strip mall (where Ralph's and CVS Pharmacy are) across Friar Rd from Hazard Center in Mission Valley while searching for an electronic store last week.
Now let's talk about Italian food. Generally when I want to try an Italian recipe, I look for a version from where the recipe is from. Why? Because recipes chicken tikka masala gravy recipe localized too!
Desi Wok located on 41st and Yale across from the Promenade mall. The food is exotic and fun but with prices that will leave you smiling. The menu is Chinese/Thai with a sprinkling of Indian. May I personally suggest the slow cooker chicken tikka masala thighs with Nan bread. The restaurant is quiet for an intimate and exotic date.
After the salad you can attack the main entrees, of which there are usually at least five to ten different choices. Vegetarians will delight in the lentils and veggie curries. Personally I love the Chicken Tandoori and tikka masala. Chicken Masala is also creamy and delicious, spicy and buttery. There are creamed spinach dishes that will make your mouth water, as well as different colored curries that make the fast Indian food look like the best choice you have made in a long time. Pair everything with some fresh Naan bread straight from the tandoori oven and you are in Nirvana my friends.
For some kinds of cakes, you can use wine or sherry rather than butter and oil. It will make your cake lighter and will add some interesting flavor as well.
Further, you should check out the number of accessories available. Cooking for one individual is obviously a simpler task as compared to cooking for a family of four. Can you use the same slow cooker chicken tikka masala to cook for different persons under different conditions?
Heat the cooking oil in a pan and add cardamoms, chopped garlic and allow them to heat till they get brown. Then add, tomato puree, sugar, 1 teaspoon of chilly powder, salt, almond paste, garam masala and mix them all well. Heat the mixture for few minutes till it gives out an aromatic smell, then add the pieces of chicken tikkas and mix them well. Allow them to heat for 15 minutes at low flame and continue to stir the mixture for some time. Serve the dish with hot chapaatis or naans and enjoy the most popular dish with friends and family.
